Delania Alma is a contemporary artist residing in Miami Florida. Born and raised in New York City by Dominican parents, Delania recalls her passion for art as early as 12 years old. One of her early pieces was submitted to an art contest that won and was displayed in the Bronx museum of Art in New York City. Delania’s work varies from abstract, contemporary, to surrealism. She has degrees in Psychology and Nursing (specializing in pediatrics) and speaks both English and Spanish. Her work is mainly influenced and inspired by children, dreams, music, weather, and travel.Delania paints “del alma,” which in Spanish means “from the soul.” Her paintings are full of saturated colors and layers of emotions that reference subliminal stories. From canvases, murals and a music album cover. Her paintings can also be found in restaurants in NYC and major children hospitals in NYC and Miami. Upcoming works include book cover for children’s book “la niña ostra” and her next series to be exhibited in gallery of INDOTEL, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
